the TLBJJ kids program strives to build bully-proof, positive, community minded young martial artists.
Learning self-defence enhances children's confidence and equips them to deal with bullying effectively. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) techniques offer an edge in physical altercations, regardless of a child's size. BJJ emphasises grappling over striking, enabling kids to leverage their opponent's strength against them. They learn these skills through fun games and drills led by skilled coaches.
Students acquire self-defence and competition techniques while fostering teamwork, respect, confidence, and discipline. They also improve their strength, mobility, balance, and motor skills during engaging classes. At TLBJJ, our supportive environment ensures that students not only face challenges but also enjoy their journey toward becoming accomplished martial artists..
The Kids Program has four terms a year, aligning with Qld public school terms, each term lasting ten weeks. Our experienced instructors create a supportive and encouraging environment where children can build confidence, discipline, and respect for themselves and others.
TINY TERRAS (4-6YRS)
The Terras class introduces young children to the fundamentals of BJJ in a fun, safe, and engaging environment.
Students develop coordination, balance, and basic self-defense techniques through playful drills and structured activities.
LITLLE LUTAS (7-9YRS)
In the Lutas class students begin learning multi step techniques to chain together takedowns, transitions and submissions.
Students will begin sparring against each other in a controlled environment.
JUNIORS (10-12YRS)
The juniors class is a more structured system then the Terras & Lutas classes.
Students pair up to practice techniques and spar, rather then with the Instructors as they did in the younger age groups.
TEENS (13-15YRS)
The Teens classes are run very much the same as our adults classes. Respect, discipline and teamwork is now expected.
Focus is placed on quality technique and training with a sustained intensity.
